Due to onrush of water from upstream, water of Teesta River is now flowing 25 centimetres above the danger level at Dalia Point in Nilphamari district on Wednesday morning.
According to representatives of local government bodies, onrush of water from upstream region triggered floods in 15 char areas under Nilphamari district leaving over 10,000 families marooned.
Due to rise of water level in the river Teesta in Dimla upazila of the district, nearly 1,000 families were affected.
